CTECS has validated numerous federal and state agency CTE programs (44 member states since inception!) to promote the systematic research, development, and implementation of competency- based instruction. CTECS is a not-for- profit company that operates a consortium of states for which members pool efforts to develop competency-based career and technical education resources that are validated by business, industry, and labor.

CTECS provides industry-based resources and services for the improvement of career technical education and workforce development instruction, assessment, certification, and delivery.

The WRS Assessment

Inexpensive and easy to administer in your facilities: measure a student’s or trainee’s awareness of essential workplace behavioral expectations and critical personal mindsets.

The Package

The WRS Credential Package offers: a Pre-Test, Curriculum, Post-Test, and the WRS Digital Badge. Set a baseline with instant reporting and data collection and give them the tools to develop durable skills throughout their careers.

Validated

The WRS Assessment was launched in 2011, based on a skills list that was validated by the research group at the Weldon Cooper Center, University of Virginia.

Current Users

The WRS Assessment has continued to evolve in Virginia and was adopted quickly by other members of our consortium, including Nevada, Idaho where it is tied to graduation. New testing is underway in adult education, workforce organizations, colleges, and industry.
